Which smart devices were overhyped but failed to catch on?

I often see Meta, Snap, Google or Apple ramping up their efforts for smart glasses. But,... I have only seen 1 or 2 people in my area actually have them. I think it's more hype than real use (and maybe I'm just in a bubble).

What do you think was just an overpriced marketing gimmick and has no long-term perspective at all?

Here are some hints you can choose from, or come up with your own:
smart rings, AI wearables, robo cars, robots, smartwatches, AI/VR/AR glasses, smart home appliances,...

Apple Vision Pro isn’t used where I live, and I read in the news that sales are low, so the idea is considered somewhat of a failure. Though, I personally like the concept :/

@ixord Do you think they will shut it down?

@busmark_w_nika I don’t think so. Apple has strong marketing strategies, so I believe they would be able to handle the situation if necessary.

Dyson Zone, Amazon camera with a drone (I mean adding cameras feels more efficient and cheaper), cute smiling robots on shows that only follow you. Meta Glasses are very useful. Shooting amazing videos handless and being more present. Phone calls, speaking with AI. They are definitely worth it for someone that already uses glasses anyway.

@bengeekly Okay, this looks very strange. 😂 It looks like a straitjacket on the head.
