Which platform(s) do you primarily use to share updates, announcements, and news?

Where do you regularly post product updates, company news, announcements, etc. Or do you typically publish those through your blog or website or even chat like Slack? I'm using a mix of a few and am curious which one will be the most active. What has your experience been like? Which platforms have you tried/want to try?

As for me, it is a combo of social media: X, LinkedIn

It depends, what kind of target audience you want to reach. If it is for internal purposes, I would go for Slack in that case.

But the best case is to benefit from platforms where you have the biggest user base.

@busmark_w_nika Makes complete sense. Definitely depends on the audience and finding out where your target customers are. Sometimes that takes some trial and error I guess.

Underrated: Product Forums (/p/) by @Product Hunt — an opportunity to start building momentum early and keep it going post-launch.

@fmerian +1, have been seeing more makers do this and it's a great way to engage directly with users or potential users.

@gabe any good examples that struck you?

Maybe I still do not understand till the end a role of slack. It’s Messanger but for audience? I personally use LinkedIn mostly too. So we can exchange connects haha

@eliza_pogorilska Yeah i dont consider slack a social platform, but I guess if it's a large enough community it might feel like it. I've been in slack channels with thousands of people. But then that slack channel is super niche usually.

Pavago

We’ve found LinkedIn and email newsletters to be the most effective platforms for updates—especially when targeting professionals and B2B clients. For service-based platforms like Pavago, where businesses connect with vetted remote finance and operations talent, credibility and consistency are key. Sharing actionable insights and success stories on LinkedIn helps build trust, while newsletters ensure updates reach directly into decision-makers’ inboxes. That said, we’re also exploring niche platforms like Indie Hackers and Slack communities to engage early adopters. It’s all about choosing channels aligned with your users' behavior and industry.

@pavago You explained it perfectly. Seems like you're doing it right! I think its good to diversify across many platforms but make 1-3 the main ones. You never know who you might reach

I would go for X or LinkedIn anyday, but it would be better to post on the platform with the highest visibility potential.

It's LinkedIn for me for external announcements!

Would have loved it if PH had a mechanism too.

Absolutely. From my perspective, Product Forums (/p/) are the opportunity to keep momentum.

@fmerian can any maker or hunter create a forum or is it only for some specific products?
flo merian
