What's The Next Big Thing In Tech?

What's your bet on the next frontier? Everyone's still catching up with AI, but some interesting stuff is already happening.

Some areas where I see the world heading next are quantum computing, which is finally moving from lab experiments to actual commercial systems.

Brain-computer interfaces are another one. With the way Neuralink and other similar companies are heading, we may be more closer to reality than other people realise.

While everyone's obsessing over Agentic AI, some of the really wild breakthroughs might be happening in these corners of tech.

Looking forward to your thoughts!! :)

Launching soon!
With the way we are using AI, I would say AI has arrived but application of AI is hardly there. There was so much buzz about Gen AI 1.5 yrs back but after reading 230 articles/papers I astonishingly got to know how peripheral it was. AI is not just about efficiency… that’s a very small piece… it’s about better outcomes, achieving the unachievable eg in healthcare, in sales (my products), functional thinking, experience enhancements, defect prevention and so on

  • Robotics - robotaxis becoming more widely adopted, household robots

  • Nuclear power is going to have (already is having) a resurgence in interest, specifically driven by AI energy demands

  • Self-hosted LLMs

  • AI consulting boom followed by a bust - Companies installing AI into everything will later have to pay consultants to clean up the mess

  • AI devices - OpenAI is releasing something soon, there will be more (although we've seen some failures already)

  • Anti-aging technologies - a lot is going on here from what I've heard

The hardware layer to support advancements in AGI/super-intelligence - think Jarvis in Ironman. There’s an infrastructure needed for you to be able to call upon and take action with your assistant wherever you go (home, car, personal).
