What do you love doing on summer weekends when you're not working?

There’s something about summer weekends that just opens things up.

Unlike winter, where things can feel a bit more limited unless you’re into skiing or snowboarding, summer offers so much more flexibility.

Whether it’s hiking in the mountains, swimming at the beach, biking through the countryside, going for a long run, or even jumping out of a plane (yes, I know a few who do that!). Summer makes it all feel more alive.

More daylight, more spontaneity, more chances to disconnect and reset.

So I’m curious: what do you love doing when you’re off the clock in summer?

I’ll go first:

Visiting new cities with my family and discovering hidden spots

– Playing tennis: ideally early in the morning before the heat kicks in

Your turn: what’s your go-to summer weekend activity?👇

Weekends this summer have been a mix of slow mornings and a bit of building.

We’ve been working on the launch of a SEO tool (launched today) lately. If you're curious: Findable (currently #2️⃣ on Product Hunt)

Still made space for the good stuff:

long walks with coffee and my better half, reading in the garden, slow yoga, and late-night films with way too much ice cream.

Would love to hear how everyone else is spending their summer weekends!

My routine is almost the same, tho I add travelling into my schedule.

Otherwise I think and feel that I work more than usual atm :D

Aleksandar Blazhev

@busmark_w_nika what is your routine?

Nika

@byalexai Wake up, exercise, engaging with community, work, another exercise session, meal, work, going out, learning something, partially work and exercise (literally like this) :D

@byalexai  @busmark_w_nika Quite an active rest, my day doesn't change much when I'm not working. I can read a book or spend time with my family. But people also say that if you do something new, it's a kind of rest. Have you tried doing something new on your weekends?

Nika

@byalexai  @ixord TBH, I haven't tried something new for a long time but maybe I just didn't notice because I do many things and everything seems to me so "natural and usual" :D

Love this question. For me, summer weekends usually mean hitting the trails early (before the heat ruins the vibe), grabbing an iced coffee after, and tinkering with side projects in the shade. 😅

Also not mad about a spontaneous road trip now and then — windows down, music up, no real plan.

How about you — ever do a tech-free weekend just for the reset?

Aleksandar Blazhev

@dustinheaps Oh, definitely. I often forget about the world and my wife and I just go somewhere. There are weekends when I completely forget to touch my phone or laptop.

I usually spend my summer weekends cooking and watching a classic movie.

I also enjoy listening to audiobooks and doing some sports like running.

@hwiidg Nice.

Can you mention some of your favorite movies?

@byalexai Some of my favorite movies are: the Back to the Future trilogy, Forrest Gump, Groundhog Day, Pulp Fiction, In the Mood for Love, and Indiana Jones.

If I have a long break or some free time, I usually do a movie marathon of all the Marvel films. especially The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit.

@hwiidg I love Back to the Future. One of my favorite trilogies. Especially the second one!
