How do you spend your weekends?

One of the most interesting things to me is how culture shapes our weekends.

Some people unplug completely. Others treat Saturday like Monday.

.

I’ve noticed a pattern:

Solopreneurs/freelancers often work weekends.

But once a startup hits 4/5+ people, weekends start looking a lot more like weekends.

Of course, there are exceptions but it made me wonder how you all spend yours.

As for me. I’m a mix.

Some weekends are fully family time. Others? Deep work mode.

It mostly depends on the weather:

If it’s really hot, I prefer to stay in and work.

If it’s really cold, same.

But anything in between?

That’s perfect time to be with the people I love. My wife, my baby boy or friends/parents.

Curious where you fall on the spectrum.

Alex, I feel you and have it the same way. To be honest, most of my time, I work, but then, there are occasional looong walks, hikes or adventures. Also it depends on the season – when it is winter, I am more likely to stay at home. Summer – outside.

I am not sure. When I hit 86 people weekends vanished. Holidays became super stressful. During high growth phases things can be hard particularly if you’re growing personnel quickly. When you’re hiring a lot is when it feels like the wheels are flying off the truck. Calm happens when things are stable and that generally means hiring and growth curves as sloped. I am sure there are some exceptions but for most my friends this has been true as well.

I'm trying very hard to mix, but I'm working this weekend, because we plan to launch next week on PH

I'm a solopreneur and work full-time during the week, but I don’t always work on weekends. When I focus only on work, I sometimes start to feel stuck and find it harder to think creatively. It can feel like I’m just going in circles. So on weekends, I just do what I feel like. Sometimes I work, but other times I spend time with family, exercise, read, or pick up a paintbrush or instrument. Taking that space actually helps me come back to work with clearer thinking and better results.

For me, it's the perfect time to get a lot of work done. I don't really get much from relaxing / having fun when there's things I must accomplish. So it hasn't been much of a mental sacrifice honestly.

Love this question! I’ve fully embraced my modern vampire aesthetic 🧛🏻♀️—pale skin that fries instantly in Indonesia’s eternal summer, yet somehow gets frostbite in winter (my body clearly can’t decide what climate it hates most).

As a freelancer, weekends blur into work when projects demand it. But my perfect downtime? Homebody paradise: me-time with books/games/movies, or low-key family hangs. No far-flung travels for this vampire - my coffin (read: air-conditioned apartment) is my happy place. Why chase sunsets when you can haunt your own couch? 😂

I don't have days off, I always work. Of course I can find some time to spend with my family. But I like working, and I'm happy about it.
