Amazon now requires AI to get promoted

Amazon’s smart-home division (Ring, Blink, etc.) just rolled out a new policy: starting this quarter, employees must prove how they’re using AI if they want a promotion.

To us as a team building in the AI space, this feels like a huge signal: generative AI isn’t just a plus anymore. it’s becoming the baseline in many jobs.

But personally, I see something deeper here.

This isn’t just a "show us how AI helps you" policy. It feels more like:

"Prove that AI can’t do your job yet."
