Hi everyone, I’m David Cohen, co-founder of Techstars which is one of the largest seed investors in the world with over 3,400 investments to date. I first met Steven Plappert back in 2015 when he took his first startup, FantasyHub, through our Techstars Austin accelerator. Steven’s a great guy and an amazing leader, so I was thrilled when he and his co-founder Logan Burchett decided to apply for the Techstars Anywhere program in 2020 with Forecastr. Congratulations Logan and Steven. I just dug way back in my calendar and saw that Monday, December 9th 2019 was my first meeting with the Forecastr team, back when they had the email addresses @financialmodel.io... Four+ years goes pretty fast. We have a huge audience of startup founders and Steven and Logan were itching to get their "soon to launch" beta in front of some early adopters. It would be more than 2 years before we did our first event together. Between then, however, Logan and Steven updated me every month via email and checked in quarterly with a quick call. They were always sharing progress and addressing setbacks. I could see they were building a company with deliberate intention in an era when hype was ruling the airwaves. Those are the kind of startups I love; the ones in it for the long game and not just the latest hype-cycle. When they were finally ready with their first beta, we were happy to share their efforts and expertise with our founders. Since that first event we've been doing them monthly with all-time-high attendance growing and growing. Hey there! I recently heard about Forecastr and I have to say, I'm really impressed with what they're offering. From what I gather, they provide financial modeling services to help founders build customized models that accurately reflect their business. The analysts at Forecastr work closely with you to create a tailored model, and the platform itself is user-friendly and makes it easy to track and share key metrics. I think it's a great tool for any founder looking to make better decisions and raise the capital they need.

Finally, a way to ditch the spreadsheets! We've been using a handful of excel workbooks for financial models that continuously need to be repopulated monthly, constantly break, and overall take hours to prepare. I first learned about Forecastr in 2022 during an accelerator program. My startup is early stage/pre-revenue, but we continued to put off more complex financial modeling for a couple reasons 1) that wasn't our background beyond the basics 2) manually doing spreadsheets are a huge pain. But when we heard about Forecastr we signed up ASAP, because the alternatives out there were and still are horrible (build + maintain spreadsheets yourself, hire someone, download templates, etc.). We knew right away Forecastr was seriously an answered prayer! It's been a year since using the product and being partnered with an analyst on their team. Our experience has been nothing short of amazing! Being able to quickly input and analyze everything from planned hires, revenue models, and metrics is a breeze with Forecastr. I have been a founder of multiple companies and my current startup started using Forecastr about 6 months ago. Forecastr rocks! I've been using it for over a year, and both their product and their people (you know who you are) are top-notch! Building a model from scratch is as onerous as it is intimidating. *If* you can figure out how to do it, plan on modifying it umpteen more times as you go to market. It's difficult. I've tried it. Forecastr makes it so much easier to configure and alter your model as you approach PMF. The modeling architecture makes so much sense and is so intuitive. And it's not like they just take your money and forget about you. Their analysts are sharp, know the product well, and genuinely want you to succeed--not just with their product, but with your business. Forecastr has been a big part of my startup. I encourage you to consider making it part of yours.
