I launched my podcast two years ago at 16, and since then, every weekend, I have had to spend cutting clips out of my podcast and posting them on social media.
It has been so frustrating. It was the thing that was going to stop me from continuing to do my podcast.
That’s why Dimitar and I, who were still in high school just a month ago, started PodClips - to help podcasters focus on the important thing: recording their episodes.🎙️

So basically, is it an app for creating Shorts/Reels? Does it also offer the option to change some parts of the clip manually if we want to customise it a bit according to our taste?

Yeah, it's a platform that creates Shorts and Clips(16:9 ratio used for YouTube) only for podcasters.
Yes, you can customise based on your preferences. You can add time at the start or end of the clip, change the colours, change the thumbnails, change captions, and many more customisations :)

9 years ago I started a podcast as a hobby and I have been doing everything manually up until 2022 when WhisperX was launched. This tiny process changed my whole production level. But this is fundamental podcasting that allows organic and steady growth.
What new podcasters really want is growing their audience - quickly and effortlessly. Short-form content is one of the answers and I am so happy to have joined forces with Dimitar and Tsvetan to make this work for everyone at a fraction of a cost that manual editing.

What are the things you missed as features in Opus?

Yeah, PodClips auto-reframes the whole podcast episode into a 9:16 frame, adds captions, and has brand settings like a logo, hook at the start, and end screen with the thumbnail of the podcast as a CTA for viewers to watch the whole episode.
Everything is ready to be published in Reels, Shorts, and TikTok with all the metadata :)
I’ve tried a couple AI cliping tools, and most stop at “just good enough.” If PodClips nails timing, formatting, and offers metadata out of the box, that’s a big leap for podcast workflows.
We have tried to make the best possible way for choosing moments, specifically out of podcasts.
We will keep improving it and adding new features.

Literally spent hours this past weekend editing my long-form content into clips. Will there be ways to highlight specific sections/timestamps to clip? For example, "Clip 2:00 to 6:00 and 8:00 to 12:00 into two separate shorts". Especially relevant when different topics are discussed at different time stamps.
