Dyson is the Apple of vacuums! My roommates and I just purchased a Dyson... It's magical--no loss of suction.

@thomasmeagher Miele's are a lot better than Dysons. Dysons have great marketing but they aren't actually that good.

@joe_blau Think that's what he was getting at....Apple still doesn't manufacture their own products. Perception is everything. They are a brilliant branding company.

But does it homekit

@michael_mclean I was wondering the same thing :)

We're upvoting pre-launch vacuums now? If I wanted a robotic house cleaner, I'd go back to my ex-wife! [sexist_70s_standup_comic.gif]

That animation though.

I'm all for robovacs but this doesn't really solve any of the pain points I have with vacuuming. It looks well-suited to cover the open areas of my floor (which are the easiest areas for me to vacuum). It looks pretty tall and wouldn't fit under most of my furniture, and I can't tell how well it cleans in corners. I want a robovac as a supplement to my upright that can get in the areas where pet hair gathers.

I'm sure they wanted to show off all their super awesome technology, but honestly I didn't read anything at all. It's like expecting me to read the whole ikea manual. I don't know why web designers these days come up with all these beautiful looking designs with the worst user interaction ever. Thanks to the website I still don't know how this is better than Roomba.

@ezrasuki Interesting. Even though I'm a big advocate for simple, readable long-form pages, I found Dyson's more complex page impressive. It shows off the elegance of the vacuum's industrial design in a way a more basic page could not. The copy clearly explained how their design is superior, and why their tech is awesome. The fancy interactions also did a good job aligning with Dyson's brand: high-end super-tech. Give this is something as rote as a vacuum, I found it engaging.

@dankaplan The reason I don't like it is because it's essentially a slideshow (do you ever like those slideshows like "10 hottest silicon valley founders" that make you click through the entire 10 pages?) but gives no option to quickly figure out what it's about. And counting all the time it takes to do all the fancy transition it's even worse than a slideshow. Even Business Insider has a "view as one page" option. Also a slideshow should have "prev/next" buttons, instead of deceiving visitors into thinking they are viewing a single continuous webpage. Maybe you read through the whole thing because it's Dyson and maybe you like the brand, but I am curious if you would do the same if it was some random startup. I'm not trying to troll but this has been on my mind for a while lately so just wanted to share.

@ezrasuki If it was a hardware startup and their product was beautiful, sure, I'd read it. A software startup, though? Probably not.

I guess this is what love feels like...just to let you know Dyson I will be cheating on you come Sept 9th her name's Apple...I have no shame.

All kidding and hyperbole aside. I bought a Dyson DC42 on special last year and it is so very superior to any vacuum I've had before. Manoeuvrability, suction, weight. So superior. Really goes to show you how great engineering and design can make even the most boring stuff quite wonderful.

Want!

Looks pretty well designed, but if its anything like most Dyson products, it'll be expensive.

@ghobs91 Googled a bit and found this - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/scien... which speculates it'll be about £750 ($1225). I knew it would be expensive, but that seems really really high.
Some Guy
@fjania Companies tend to charge the same amount in pounds sterling and dollars (at the Brits' expense), so theres a good chance it could be $750-850, which is still way too expensive for a more elegant Roomba.
Matt
Game over Roomba.

That demo site didn't demo a single benefit to me. They are clearly talking to people that care more about features than "watch a 30 sec video of this thing kicking ass around your house".

@odower exactly what i was saying above

This is awesome! I'm going to build stilts for all my furniture!

A robot vacuum cleaner is incredible. I always wanted to have such an assistant at home, but when faced with a choice I could not decide on which brand of vacuum cleaner I would stop. When choosing the right robot vacuum cleaner, the review https://freeholidaywifi.com/shar... helped me. While vacuum cleaners have been around for a long time, robotic versions are relatively new. In fact, many people have the impression that they are expensive and complex, but you can be convinced that you can choose a vacuum cleaner that is right for you, both in price and in function.

I forgive them for hijacking scrolling.

Wow - this looks awesome! (though I do prefer Miele vacs)

I am a huge fan of Dyson and have loved his philosophy of "re inventing" everyday products since his original "wheel" barrow. Looking at the specs of the 360 Eye, I see it using a rotating brush pick up system. I had to abandon my latest cordless Dyson. The rotating brushes and bearings became clogged with long hairs every week, needing to be stripped down and cut out. It was a disappointing experience versus my Dyson canister version. Mr. Dyson please have a think about hairy families.

Dyson vacuum cleaners are the best on the market for many years now. According to this article - https://dpublished.com/best-vacu... Dyson has two leading positions from top 10 best hoovers. In my opinion it is a bit more than that. If i think about cordless vacuum cleaner i always think of Dyson and honestly can't remember any other names. We have a little Pomeranian at home and when she jumps on the couch, her hair is everywhere. Thanks to my electric cordless friend i can get rid of it in a few minutes.
