I wanted to analyze my own text messages and get insights over the entire history with an LLM. I couldn't find any tool out there that did anything similar and got tired of waiting.

This is still an early prototype. It only works for messages exported from Android from SMS Backup & Restore. But I plan to get it working for Whatsapp messages next since you can easily export chats from there.

Drop your suggestions for anything you'd like in here.

@snk I wasnt totally sure about it, as a lot of Ai apps seem rushed and like they have little thought put in them - but I really like it a lot. You even made creating the backup of my messages incredibly easy!

@shannon_byrne  Thanks! Yeah the goal was to make it super wash for anyone to do it. Some platforms like WhatsApp make it easier to export chats than others.

@replibee Not yet. This only analyzes a single backup snapshot. But I can turn this into an SMS client if there's enough interest.

Just tried Convo, and I'm impressed! It's like having a personal assistant for your text messages. The sentiment analysis and topic identification are spot on, and I love that all the data stays local privacy matters. Can't wait to see it support WhatsApp next. Great work, team!

@niladri_hazra  We haven't added AI insights across multiple conversations. That's on the roadmap. I think there's an approach where we compress relevant information across multiple conversations to deliver some aggregate insights from a specific angle like for sales, recruiting, dating, etc. Do you have a particular use case in mind?

@mcval_osborne I just added support for Whatsapp last night if you export a single chat (it's a little buggy FYI). Haven't looked into telegram yet.

@ash_grover Thanks for the suggestion. I just added Whatsapp support. We'll try to make it more robust and better for that usecase.
