@eladmeidar: Cool. how likely it is that the incognito emails will wake up the "spam guards"?
Elad Meidar
@itamaryu we are currently seeing some cases in which it actually happens, working on it as we speak.
Elad Meidar
@itamaryu Verified and cleaned. No longer being detected by SPAM filters.

@itamaryu @eladmeidar I don't see it being a huge problem, as long as it isn't compromised to send mass emails etc
Elad Meidar
@patrickcoombe @itamaryu We are working on that. limitations and blacklisting for abusing clients is already in production

@eladmeidar what do you see the potential uses for this product? Why would I want to send anonymous email? Are the safe guards built to prevent it from being used to harass people?
Elad Meidar
@nevermike Excellent questions, we are adding a way to blacklist your email from receiving any incognito emails through our system as we speak. we are also adding a "report" option for a specific sender in case such is harassing or misusing the system. The primary use case for Blankstamp.io is obviously the right to remain anonymous. As there are ways to remain anonymous using almost every other communication methods (re: Blindspot app and SMS messages) we figured an email would be a reasonable addition. While talking to potential users, one example that we came across is an employee that witnessed a sexual harassment case at her workplace and wanted to report to her superiors without exposing her identity.

@eladmeidar Thanks for the explanation. I feel like getting the safeguards in ASAP is very important.

@nevermike @eladmeidar If this took off TLS + SSL + PGP this could get scary

I wonder how Steve Jobs will ever receive any email.. You might want to try Tim?

Hmmmmm nice! I can now let some people now what I think about them (without offending).
Jeremy Sadwith
@gabrielreynard I think they'll still be offended.
Gabriel Reynard
@jrsjrsjrs Oh yes, but not with me!
jordan fish
This is awesome! Except it keeps your email signature in the message, so if you use anything where your sig is not visible inline in your email your identity will be revealed anyway ;)
Elad Meidar
@jordanfish excellent point. We are looking into several options on how to deal with that specific subject.

I'm curious why there is '007' after 'at' but before the domain?
Elad Meidar
@braunshizzle We use the "_at007_" as a place holder to replace the "@" sign in the original email address since no SMTP server is capable of processing an email address with more than one "@" in it. So basically, it is just a way to include your designated recipient address but still forward the mail to our servers and to apply anonymity.
Braunson Yager
@eladmeidar I figured so, and got the 007 reference ;-)
Elad Meidar
@braunshizzle Shhhhh, don't tell anyone :)

Please advise me on what purpose a product like this serves other than shiesty ass bullshit.
Elad Meidar
@colinrhoads simple. We have been reported by users about some cases blankstamp was used to report cases of bullying at schools and some cases of misbehaviours at workplaces. Yes, it can be misused and we are doing what we can to ensure it won't be easy, but when it is being used as a whistle blower, we're cool with that.
Colin
@eladmeidar Think if you do a true audit on the intentions of this product you'd see that the general do good scenario's you've mentioned are probably around 1%. The reality is this product makes it even easier for assholes online that aren't too computer savvy to be the even bigger assholes they aspire to be. Good thing is I'm pretty sure spam filters will always stay ahead of products like this.

Does this even work? Been trying to experiment from Gmail but in vain.
Elad Meidar
@ansh_shrey Hi there, talk to me on Twitter and i'll work it through with you.

Nice idea, but the Steve Jobs thing is pretty sad :-(
Gunar Gessner
Awesome idea. I like the no-UI thing. Worked for me.

Apple Mail ( 9.2 ) moves the mail to the spam folder . When I have a false but optical real looking quoted message added after message , it has not been recognized as spam . Something complicated and cumbersome for the standard user . When this occurs often you should offer to attach a re- message by checkbox . The recipient should be declared in the quoted text that it is nonsense , and why it is attached .
Elad Meidar
@paul_wilke noted. Appreciate the feedback

Sounds similar to Leak.
Elad Meidar
@thomasmeagher Leak seems to be out of business so i can't really say how it worked and what are the differences. But with Blankstamp.io - one of the main features is the ability to exchange emails back and forth and not just sending a one-time anonymous email.
tom meagher
@eladmeidar Then it's different! Leak was an OG product that was kicked off MailChimp and then SendGrid.

Ended up in junk in my outlook.com while testing.

Hello Hunters! We recently released a new feature for beta testing. Anonymous chat rooms. Basically the same process of sending an Incognito blankstamp email with a specific subject ("[incogchat]") will send both your recipient and yourself a link to an anonymous chat room. You both will automatically be assigned with a made up username and an origin country and you will be able to chat freely for 24 hours. looking forward for your feedback.

"Need a little bit more than 5 CONVESATIONS a week?" <--- Typo on the main page, FYI.

So when I was traveling internationally I noticed that all of the American passports that I saw were Blue and wasn't sure if this was a requirement but now looking through I confirmed it is not. Was cool to see that Canada, Costa Rica, USA, Brazil, and a handful of other countries in America have Blue passports but not all do. Do you know if there is any significance to the color of a passport. I see China's is unsurprisingly red.
