This is a non-starter. Is it competitive with Fitbit and Apple Health in terms of functionality, validated data accuracy, and data usefulness? Not even close. Do I trust Amazon with my data? I learned I couldn't with Alexa and Ring. Do I trust Amazon to continuing investing in this product to make it worth switching to? Not a good track record there either.

Looks like a Whoop clone.

Interesting that they went with a hardware and subscription based model but it does seem to be pretty intuitive

Amazon is back at it again copying what's working tech/design-wise off upcoming startups that are in the early adopters' phase, in this case, Whoop, and immediately crossing the chasm to the masses at a cheaper price point. Personally, a company that's selling me something on their online store while simultaneously having access to my heart rate through this wellness band and my tone of voice from Alexa sketches me out. However, the average consumer won't think twice. Congrats on the launch Jeff & Company, split your stock already, please!

So @Grammarly watches your typing for tone. #AmazonHalo watches your voice for tone. If we invested this much energy into teaching children to listen to each other, we could just skip a step. I did spend about 5 years measuring my voice and typing tone, and can confirm, the feedback is effective but what's really amazing is using it as a measurement for other lifestyle changes. For instance, a meditation practice will show up in HOW you speak to others long before you NOTICE anything internally.

The voice analysis is interesting, if it works well it could be a great tool to maintain healthy relationships. Looking forward to the Early Access opening up.

I feel like Wyze Band has this beat on price and features. I must be missing something.

This looks like a very interesting product from Amazon, and it shows why the company is investing heavily in the wellness and healthcare space. The official video of the product is here:
And the people behind the product are: - Maulik Majmudar, MD: https://twitter.com/mdmajmudar - Bryant Herron-Patmon: https://www.linkedin.com/in/bher... and many more.

Lots of really cool ideas here, but the $4USD/month subscription is what kills it for me. Fingers crossed that they include it for free with a prime membership.

This is sooo a copy of Whoop.

I bought one a few months ago. The only feature that I thoroughly enjoyed using is the body composition scanner; its a smarter way to track body changes compared to a simple scale. This feature could definitely do without the band though IMO.
