Hey, Im Hayley! Zeke and I built Alpaca My Bags because we noticed many people our age aren’t traveling very much due to not having enough time, money, or not wanting to plan a vacation so we wanted to make that easier for everyone! We offer pre-planned weekend getaways that include affordable flights, lodging, and a flexible itinerary. You can enjoy some of our country's most spectacular locations without breaking the bank or taking off a whole week from work!

@hayley51793 very cute site! What is your criteria for making selections? Travel is hard because it seems so personal... how do you account for everyone's idiosyncrasies?

@chrismessina We hand curate all of our lodging, so we make sure the reviews are good, it's in a good location, and that there's plenty to do in the area. We try to offer a variety of different types of getaways from relaxing trips to the beach, to hiking in the mountains. So hopefully we cover most of what travelers are looking for, but we're also open to feedback on how we can better account for everyone!

@fanahova Thanks, Alessio! Europe and a few other countries are on our list to add next! Super excited to see the deals we'll dig up, because we've also noticed that the flights there are a lot cheaper than in the US. How does this compare to Airbnb Experiences?

@chrismessina We're trying to provide more fully planned vacations for people who don't like doing that part of traveling. Our flexible itineraries focus more on providing multiple fun things to do in the area (so you have a choice on what you want to do over the weekend), and less on single experiences. We also include flight deals with our getaways, and also try to provide travelers with local deals when available e.g. coupons to a popular restaurant or attraction, etc. (Granted, I've never used Airbnb Experiences. 👍)

I love having someone else do the time consuming work of finding great lodging and also putting a list together of fun things to do at each location! So many options from beach to mountains to national parks to cityscapes! I want to travel to all the places!

Pros:

Hassle-free trip planning, weekly updates, antastic location options across the U.S.

Like this idea a lot, particularly the focus on couples weekend trips since they are the easiest to squeeze into the schedule but the hardest to plan well. It would be nice to be able to sort/filter the trips rather than have everything in a single grid but that's not vital
